We’re so excited to see that ACP is bringing fine art consultant Mary Virginia Swanson to Austin! Her talks on marketing, fine art sales, and book publishing have helped countless photographers find their way in an admittedly confusing industry. We’re especially impressed by the book that she and Darius Himes co-authored, Publish Your Photography Book, and hope she’ll be signing a few copies while in town.

ACP Presents: To Be Published or Self-Publish? An Overview of Options for Artists

Austin Center for Photography has partnered with Austin City College and Precision Camera to host photography innovator, educator, advisor, and entrepreneur Mary Virginia Swanson!  In this presentation, MVS will discuss both traditional publishing and self-publishing avenues and help participants determine the pros and cons of each as they consider bringing their work to the printed page.

In addition to Swanson’s lecture, up to 20 attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a “Book Show & Sell” social, where you can bring current published or self-published titles to sell and trade! Registration will be made on-site when you check in for the lecture, first come first served.  FREE for current ACP members and ACC students, with proof of membership and valid ID, and $10 additional general admission cash or check.

Lecture tickets are FREE for current ACP members, and $15 each in advance for General Admission.  Online ticket sales will close at 12:00 noon CDT day-of.
