The Young Photographers Alliance is taking applications from mentors and students for their summer mentoring program in Austin and Dallas. This year’s theme is HOMETOWN.

Students: Anyone aged 18-29 or currently enrolled in a photography course will meet with a mentor for six two-hour sessions over the course of ten weeks. Students execute a project based on this year’s theme of HOMETOWN. Your work will be featured in an exhibit and on the YPA website. You will learn from established photographers and you will be able to create some great work for your portfolio. Fill out the online application by Monday, May 14th.

Mentors: Eli Reed is heading up the Austin program. YPA seeks additional mentors in Austin as well as Dallas for the 2012 program. Contact Lindsey Nicholson: lindsey@youngphotographersalliance.org or 917-744-5682

The YPA was created to inspire and empower young, gifted photographers. Led by industry professionals, YPA provides aspiring image-makers with access to the kind of practical industry knowledge, experience, resources, and contacts they need to build sustainable careers as photography professionals.
