Artist’s Statement: I’ve always viewed photography as a passport to pretty much anywhere.  With a camera in my hand, doors open up to me all over the world and allow me to interact with my surroundings in a way that wouldn’t be possible without it.  I have a passion for story telling in my professional work which is why I’m always searching for something unknown or interesting to document.

Photography is a very potent way to tell the worlds’ stories.  In my opinion, it is the most accessible art form to the general public and as such has tremendous power to transmit the entire range of human emotions between viewer and subject even though they may be half way around the world from each other.  For my own work, I see myself as part anthropologist part artist, documenting the communities that make up my surroundings but in a way that will cause the viewer to stop and take notice of the imagery.
