Texas Neon, By Matthew Mahon

Matthew Mahon is the 3rd child of Irish-Puerto Rican parents, born July 12th in Heidelberg, Germany. Matthew graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he study documentary photography under the tutelage of Martha Rosler and Diane Neumaier.
In 1991 Matthew moved to Seattle and worked as a tribal rug salesman by day and a bartender by night. While showing his work in underground galleries Matthew was stumbled upon by an art director that gave him his first commercial job. One year later Matthew quit his day job, moved to Austin, Texas and never looked back.
Matthew spends his free time reading, traveling and racing bicycles, and abides by the motto, “we are not here for a long time, we are here for a good time.” Matthew’s favorite food is the breakfast taco.
